I need to be on birth control soon, but how do I pick one? And how long should I be on it before having sex?
Do I have to see a doctor to get birth control? I'm not allergic to anything, so can I just try a few out on my own? From your experience, what is the best way to pick one and how long do I need to be on the pill before it works effectively?

well its not like you can just pick them up off the street so yes you have to go to a doctor or a free clinic. and they'll put you on the one they think is best. if that doesnt work out so good they'll put you on another. you just gotta keep trying different ones until you find one thats perfect for you. and you cant have unprotected sex and be 98% protected from pregnancy until you've taken at least 1-2 months steady of one type of birth control
